The Café of Europe in Fiuggi will take place during the Fiuggi Family Film Festival. A series of events will be organized, including a week-long photographic exhibition of the most famous national and international artists who have visited Fiuggi. Moreover, from January 2014, there will be a competition for historical photos, postcards and posters, to revisit the past and the future of spa towns as a cultural and heritage centres. Finally, a short- film contest is run and will be judged by the expert panel at the Festival. The theme of the contest, open to all and all ages is “Thermal Water flows through History, Culture and Natural Healing”. These minute-long films will be judged on showing thermal cultural heritage at a European level, promoting thermal cities as dynamic cultural centres and appreciating natural thermal/mineral water therapies. All the films will be shown at the Café and a prize awarded to the winner.
The round-table will be based on the history of Italian and international cinema. It will take place at the first grand hotel built in the city and presently a school for jobs in hotels and restaurants. The debate will be accompanied by reproductions of famous Fiuggi’s spa commercials made by famous audio-visual artists and filmmakers.
The Fiuggi Family Film Festival (FFF) is a film festival entirely dedicated to Families. It takes place every year during the last week of July in Fiuggi. The Festival aims at recognizing as a fact that the biggest successes of the past years have been films dedicated to families. The main characteristic of the Festival is the presence of entire families who spend their holidays in Fiuggi enjoying films and joining the many cultural, sporting, touristic and traditional events offered by the Festival. A couple of meetings every day aim at taking into consideration the main difficulties for families nowadays, from a social, economic and cultural point of view. The five editions of the event have achieved a great audience success. The Fiuggi Family Film Festival will invite, at this occasion, the festival of films for children « Plein la Bobine » that takes place each year in La Bourboule, France.
