Professor Bernd Glemser

Bernd Glemser is one of the World’s most famous contemporary pianists. Already during his studies at the Freiburg Conservatory of Music he began qualifying for international competitions and was awarded uncountable prizes. When he gained his first piano professorship, he was the youngest professor at that time. Glemser has performed with major orchestras such as the Philadelphia Orchestra or the Gewandhaus orchestra. His discography comprises more than 30 recordings, most of them receiving critical acclaim and various awards. In addition, he was awarded the Andor Foldes Prize in 1992, the European Pianists Prize in 1993, the Kulturpreis of the city of Würzburg in 2006, and, in 2012, the Bavarian Kulturpreis. In 2003, Glemser was decorated with the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
