The Centre des arts

History of the town

Near from Paris, Enghien-les-Bains is a town that takes place in the northern suburbs of the French capital. The town developed in the late nineteenth century around the scenic 110 acres lake. The casino is located on its shores. It is this expanse of water that helps give the area its unique atmosphere and character. Enghien-les-Bains has been regularly used as a source of sulphureted water.

Presentation

The Centre des arts is a trans-disciplinary space open to crossovers between the digital arts, live arts and visual arts. As a venue of artistic creation, production and distribution, it unites arts, sciences and new technologies. Its goal is to encourage new forms of exchange, to change the traditionally audience relation to the artwork and to get out of the passive consumption. The Centre des Arts supports the emergence of new forms by providing technological tools and introducing joint input from authors, artists and researchers.

Activities

The Centre is located in the heart of the city of Enghien-les-Bains close to the main street, lake and thermal facilities (Hotel & Spa, Theatre du Casino), allowing many different indoor and outdoor events.
