History of the town

Bjaden Baden is famous for its thermal water, its large parks, gardens and its “Lichtentaler Allee”. In addition, Baden Baden has always attracted artists from all over the world. Poets, painters, composers have left their traces. Indeed, the Frieder Burda museum houses a world-renowned collection of modern art. The Frieder Burda collection has eight Picasso paintings, it also has German post-war art and many paintings of Gerhard Richter, Sigmar Polke and Arnulf Rainer. In addition, the museum promotes its large stone monuments, works of the Roman period to the present time. Moreover, the Foundation has a high-level temporary exhibition. The “schwarzwaldhochstrasse” is the oldest and the most popular tourist route. One of the main attractions: the baths. Today, the hot springs of 68 degrees spring in the two thermal baths of the city , the Caracalla and Friedrichsbad Spa.
